What needs to be ready before we send an email blast? |
- Message development:
Unless you're responding to fast-breaking events, you should have your message content authored one to three days before you blast so that it can be laid out, reviewed and tested.
- Template selected and/or designed:
Know what template you'll be placing message content within, and again have it ready one to three days beforehand.
- Images and other media assets identified ready to go:
Again one to three days lead time is desirable, and longer for assets that require substantial production, such as animations.
- Landing page and click-through content ready to go:
When users click on a link in your message, they are taken to a landing page where they can carry out the required action. Make sure that page is ready for use in your test sends.
- Integration of all the above to be blast-ready:
This is hopefully done the day before you blast and otherwise day-of.
- Testing, testing, testing:
Send the message to your test list, and verify both proper rendering and functionality of all links in the message.
- Blast away!
